At the VTB Supervisory Council meeting on 6 July 2016, Valery Lukyanenko was elected Deputy President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board. He will be appointed once his nomination is approved by the main territorial department of the Russian Central Bank.
Mr Lukyanenko will continue to lead VTB’s government and defence sector departments. Under his leadership, since 2008 VTB Bank’s credit portfolio of dual-purpose enterprises increased 21 times from RUB 32 bn to RUB 674 bn. The share of nonperforming loans for this portfolio makes up only 0.5% of the total and is almost 10 times below the market average. Over 300 enterprises of the defence industry have become new clients of VTB Bank in the past three years. Today the bank works with over 1200 major companies in the defence industry.
Valery Lukyanenko is also a member of the VTB 24 Bank Supervisory Council and Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank JSC Belgrade. In 2008, he was the Chairman of the Administrative Council at VTB Africa.
Valery Lukyanenko is an expert professional, competent leader with extensive experience in the industry. His professionalism has been demonstrated in securing solutions for a number of national-importance issues.
In 2011, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev awarded Mr Lukyanenko the Order of Honour for his professional successes at VTB Bank. In addition, Mr Lukyanenko has been awarded the Order of Friendship, the medal of the Order For Merit to the Fatherland, 2nd Class, commendation of the Russian Government for his personal contribution to the development of the defence-industrial sector and years of dedicated work, a Certificate of Honour of the Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, and a number of other government honours.
Valery Lukyanenko was born in 1955. He graduated from the Novosibirsk Agricultural Institute in 1982 and the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation in 2005.
He joined VTB Bank in 2007, where he held the positions of Vice President, Senior Vice President and became a member of the Management Board in 2008.
