VTB Group becomes the Event Title Partner for the 2017 FORMULA 1 VTB RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX

VTB Group is proud to announce that it is the Event Title Partner for the FORMULA 1 RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX. The company’s logo and name have been included into the logo and name of the event and VTB has obtained additional advertising, marketing and communication options.

The modern history of the FORMULA 1 RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX dates back to 9 October 2010, when the terms of the contract for hosting a round of the FIA Formula One World Championship in Sochi were agreed during negotiations with the former CEO of the Formula One Group, Bernie Ecclestone. On 14 October 2010, the contract for the organisation of the FORMULA 1 RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX between OJSC “Center “Omega” and the Formula One Group was signed in Sochi with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation and in the presence of the Russian President Vladimir Putin. On 28 October 2010, OJSC "Center "Omega" concluded a circuit design agreement with Tilke GmbH& Co. KG.

On 10-12 October 2014, Sochi Autodrom hosted the first Formula 1® Grand Prix in Russian history which received the Formula One Management award as the best round of the season at the General Assembly of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). On 8-11 October 2015, the circuit hosted the second FORMULA 1 RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX that received positive feedback. The 2016 FORMULA 1 RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX that took place on 28 April - 1 May was a success and again saw full grandstands.

The fourth Russian round will take place at Sochi Autodrom on 27-30 April 2017.
